Ingredients
- 200 g Beef (boneless, cut into small cubes)
- 50 g Gram Flour (sifted)
- 25 g Rice Flour
- 1 Egg
- 30 g Yoghurt (thick)
- 1 tsp Garlic Paste
- 1 tsp Ginger Paste
- ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Chilli Powder
- ½ tsp Cumin Powder
- ½ tsp Coriander Powder
- ¼ tsp Black Pepper
- ½ tsp Garam Masala
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Coriander (finely chopped)
- 1 Green Chilli (finely chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Oil (for deep frying)
Directions
- 1In a bowl, combine beef cubes, turmeric powder and a pinch of salt; mix and let sit for 5 minutes.
- 2In another bowl, whisk together egg and yogurt until smooth.
- 3Add gram flour, rice flour, ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, black pepper, garam masala, and salt into the yogurt–egg mix; stir to form a thick batter.
- 4Fold in lemon juice, chopped coriander, and green chilli.
- 5Add beef cubes into this batter and toss to coat evenly. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
- 6Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- 7When oil is hot (but not smoking), drop coated beef cubes in small batches, ensuring they don’t touch.
- 8Fry each batch for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and crisp, turning once for even colour.
- 9Remove onto paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 10Serve hot with mint chutney or tamarind sauce.
